Extend your reach to providers

Photograph of a baby.Finding a way to get the quantity and quality of site visits needed for good oversight is a constant struggle for VFC program managers.

With limited resources and a serious need for provider education and data collection, most program managers wish they had a better way to get the job done.

A partnership with TMF may be the answer

We recognize that grantees must manage their resources for the greatest impact. Because TMF specializes in VFC project management, we can offer affordable solutions for any VFC program.

Collaborating with TMF extends your reach to providers, creating a partnership between VFC programs and the providers to improve the health of our children.

TMF has conducted more than 20,000 VFC/AFIX visits for the Texas Department of State Health Services since 2001 and over 600 for the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services since 2003. We have carried out more than 1200 VFC/AFIX visits and reported on 70 adolescent AFIX visits for baseline data collection for the Arizona Department of Health Services since 2006. Since beginning work for the Kansas Vaccines for Children Program in 2009, TMF has conducted over 80 VFC/AFIX site visits.

During the years that TMF has worked with various VFC programs, we have seen on average a 6 percent increase in immunization coverage for children 19 to 35 months of age.

"The site visit process conducted by TMF enabled us to capture practice-specific immunization rates, allowing us to focus on areas of needed improvement. Feedback from the review process has resulted in big payoffs - our overall immunization rate for 2004 was 98% higher than in past years. As a physician network of 214 pediatricians - including 81 primary care physicians and 40 community clinics - this is quite an accomplishment."

Regional field reviewers with extensive training

TMF uses staffing agencies to contract regional field reviewers for VFC and AFIX services. TMF conducts extensive reviewer training based on CDC requirements and best practices, available resources and the needs of your VFC program. Reviewers receive a comprehensive resource manual developed to ensure the most accurate and current information for your providers. In addition to the initial training, TMF provides reviewers with on-going support and feedback via a toll-free phone line, e-mail communications and onsite QA reviews.
